Saturday, January 19, 2019

4:00 - 6:00 PM

Photos from the Event

Explore the winter magic of Patrick Marsh Wildlife Area on a 1.5 mile snowshoe. This easy trail will be lit with candles guiding you to a toasty bonfire. Warm drinks and roasted marshmallows await you at the end of the trail.

Where: Stein Road, Sun Prairie, WI

What to Bring: Dress for the weather. Bring your own snowshoes or warm hiking boots for these ungroomed trails. A flashlight might also be useful.

This is a FREE and open event for the public! Bring a friend, or three, and enjoy the amazing Patrick Marsh. If you'd like to receive email updates for this event please email with your name, email, and guests attending.

Our Guide: For the last twenty years Sandy has mentored middle school students as they have made observations on small mammals, migratory birds, amphibians and water quality, among other activities at Patrick Marsh Wildlife Area through the Discovery Club. Sandy recently retired after 40 years as a cell biologist as the University of Wisconsin in the Departments of Neurosurgery and Pediatrics. With his retirement he is taking on new tasks at Patrick Marsh. Sandy initiated the effort to obtain funding and volunteers to build a puncheon near the Southern entrance to the Marsh early this year and has taken on the task of a complete and up to date history of Patrick Marsh Wildlife Area.
